Ben, Emma, and Katie and
English Labradors, bred and born in England. My husband and I lived and
worked about 30 miles north of Cambridge, in a region called East Anglia, which
is noted for kennels producing many field trial champions.
Our
first lab purchase while in England was Emma (see above picture, dark
yellow). Her Kennel Club name is Tollgate Tulip. She is very
intelligent, sweet natured, and eager to please. She has been a sweetheart
since the day we brought her home. Emma has had two
litters (in England) and has produced some real beauties (one set of her
offspring is pictured at the right, enjoying a shaded rest from a day's
frolic!) The color of her puppies from red to light cream. We
bred her to the same wonderful stud with an excellent pedigree (27 field
champions) both times. A few of his ancestors are from the famous
Sandringham Estate (one of Queen Elizabeth's estates.) He is a light
cream color with wonderful confirmation.
We kept a
female from Emma's first litter - Katie (Kennel Club name Rosebank's
Polly). Katie is a very light cream color (that's her, on the
right). She is the athlete in the family, and is our water
baby. She loves to run and jump, and especially loves to run and
jump in a pond, or water of any kind. She moves as gracefully as a
ballerina!
Ben is
almost three years old now, and was just 3 months old when we brought him
from England. He hardly has any English accent left!! That's
his picture on the right. He's our comic, and a get-in-your-face kinda guy
- he loves to get in your face and give lots and lots and lots of wet
sloppy kisses. I don't mind too much... but the cat hates it!
